The Reverend Phoebe Roaf Visits Trinity

Reverend Phoebe Roaf visited Trinity and celebrated Eucharist on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.  After mass Mother Phoebe stayed and spoke with the third, fourth and fifth grade students about her journey into the priesthood. 

Phoebe was raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in U.S. History from Harvard College and her Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.  Phoebe worked as a public policy researcher for several years and then returned to Arkansas to obtain her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law. Phoebe moved to New Orleans in 1998 to pursue a legal career which included five years as an associate at Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann. She graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2008 and joined the staff of Trinity following her graduation.

As Associate Rector, Phoebe is involved in all aspects of parish ministry. She serves on the Episcopate Committee to Select the 11th Bishop of Louisiana, the Board of Examining Chaplains, the Constitution and Canons Committee, the Undoing Racism Committee, and the Council on Deacons for the Diocese of Louisiana.  She is also a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Episcopal Church Building Fund and New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity.  Her hobbies include reading, needlework and listening to live music.
