What motivated you to become a teacher?
When I was in fifth grade, I had the sweetest teacher named Mrs. Lisa Huffaker. I remember waking up every morning looking forward to seeing my teacher and going to school. She was always so nice, happy and caring. Since fifth grade, I have always wanted to be just like Mrs. Huffaker. I want to make kids love school just like she made me love school.
Why did you choose to teach at Trinity?
My son Carter started Kindergarten in Mrs. Ruiz’s Kindergarten class. Trinity was such a fun loving school. From the day I took my first tour as a parent, I knew that Trinity was a great
nurturing place and a school that I would love to be a part of.
What do you want your students to gain from you and your classroom?
I want the kids in my class to love school, love learning, feel special and know that they are loved. In Pre-K 3, I think it is very important for kids to feel special in a loving environment.
Pre-K 3 is a student’s first impression of school and a year that needs to be fun and nurturing.
