What motivated you to become a teacher?
I come from a long line of educators.  My grandfather was superintendent of Schools in East Baton Rouge Parish, my grandmother was a  teacher, and my aunt and cousin were
teachers as well.  I also loved working with children from an early age.

Why did you choose to teach at Trinity?
I am a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, so I was familiar with the school.  I had heard and witnessed how the school had such a warm-friendly environment.  After I had my first child I knew in the future I wanted my children to go to Trinity for the Christian and academic education. It was a perfect time for me to switch from public to private school.  I started at Trinity when my first child was one year old.

What do you want your students to gain from you and your classroom?
I want all of my students to know that I care for each and every one of them.  My grandmother, who was an educator, told me, “If you love the children they will learn.”  This is so true. A child has to feel that they are special and that you are there to help them in a nurturing environment.
