Degree(s) and school attended:
I graduated from LSU in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Grades Education.
What motivated you to become a teacher?
I have always enjoyed working with children. When I started college, I thought I wanted to be a nurse. After my first year, something didn’t feel right. I switched my major to elementary
grades education, and I immediately realized I was where I belonged. Watching children grow and develop and learn new educational concepts is very rewarding to me.
Why did you choose to teach at Trinity?
I attended Trinity from PK- 3 to 3rd grade and have loved it ever since. The teachers and faculty at Trinity have always felt more like extended family members than coworkers. Trinity is a place that will always be a second home to me.
What do you want your students to gain from you and your classroom?
I want my students to gain the knowledge that comes from the lessons I teach. However, I want them to gain more than the lessons. I want them to learn study skills and organizational skills that they can carry with them throughout life. In addition, my hope is they gain a sense of self-worth and leave my classroom confident, independent, and ready to face new and bigger challenges.
